
GDF inks MoU for aerial surveillance support with Colombian Defence Ministry
The Guyana Defence Force (GDF) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Colombia’s Ministry of Defence to enhance cooperation in aerial surveillance and regional security. The agreement includes knowledge exchange, joint training, and the use of advanced systems to improve detection and response to threats, with a strong focus on combating illicit activities.
GDF Chief of Staff, Brigadier Omar Khan, highlighted that this partnership is a key step in protecting national sovereignty and contributing to a safer region. Meanwhile, General Luis Carlos Córdoba Avendaño, Commander of the Colombian Aerospace Force, emphasized the importance of strengthening regional partnerships to tackle common challenges.
This agreement marks an important milestone in the GDF’s modernization efforts and reinforces its commitment to national and regional security.
